If u look at the modern newspaper organisation, u wouldn’t be wrong to argue it should look like Outside.in. Their recent innovation around Radar, Near.ly, StoryMaps + GeoToolkit - is what every previously print organisation should be looking at, given the latest round of funding. And by the near 8 digit amount of money that has gone into Outside.in, I’m betting it’s the once printing press that preferential shareholders hope will be an ultimate exit. Here’s hoping some Aussie investors and media organisations have corporate strategy analysts not already on holidays or clueless about geocoded business opportunities. It seems post-Hilmer, and possibly post Kirk-Walker Fairfax especially, like the BBC just have, will need to get their head around what the MetaCartas and Outside.ins are doing. If they can, just maybe they will be able to get some of that Yelp/Google Maps/Sensis Yellow 2.0 Rivers of Contextual Local Gold.

What Have U Hyperlocal'd Lately ?
