“I have a selection of Supras for Jesus. He does not want for Gold, but he does need the Silver Supras. Only 1000 pairs globally and less than 40 in Australia. A gift to honor a great warrior and the life he will give for everyone,” said Melchior.
“Thank you,” said Joseph.
“I have brought a chest full of Nikes : Air Maxes, Air Force 1’s, 95s and even the new Michael Jordans. A gift worthy of the new king of the world,” said Balthazar as he handed the chest to Joseph.
“Thank you,” said Joseph.
“Here is a container of Common Projects. Straight from Italy. Very Special. A gift worthy of the Son of God,” said Gaspar as he handed the container to Joseph.
“Thank you,” said Joseph. “God has granted great wisdom to you all.” null
The three wise men bowed.
“Will you be returning to your country tonight?” asked Joseph.
Gaspar answered, “We will spend the night in Bethlehem and leave in the morning.”
“God bless you and protect you,” said Mary as she and Joseph waved goodbye.

Jesus aside, which is a bit hard to do at this time of the year, even down the Peninsula where “the tourists” should have already done their present shopping, it’s still busy as. Anyway, the sneaker market in some ways looks alot like the film industry : You have the major film studios - Universal becomes Nike; 20th Century Fox : Adidas; Warner Bros meet Puma.
These players also create their own ‘indie’ Fox Searchlight type arms so they can mine their old product lines (click link to see Sneaker Freakers Best of 08 + see how many r str8up rehashing) The sneaker majors are world leaders in the business of reinterpreting and creating retro lines : Air Jordans, SC Cross Trainers, 180’s. Car manufacturers could learn a thing or two; Sneaker Indies also do collabs with creatives to build brand credibility : Exactly same as why Audi build an R8 supercar, or Ferrari race Formula 1 - whether it be Kanye’s Nike Collabs, Sneaker Freaker’s Puma Blaze of Glory (do luv the blackbeast), A-Life’s Reeboks and so on; These hero products are meant to ruboff, distilate to the mainstream offers.
So Issue 13 of the Aussie made, globally leading, Sneaker Freaker, profiled the emerging “indie” sneaker creators; Showcasing the not affordable unfortunately Common Projects, the 1/4 price suave Claes, Swedish Grams, Vael, Cause in Effect, and my favourite of 2008 : Supra. Well Supra NS to be technical, which stands for their Non Skateboarding line, with premium materials and pricing:) And the Supras I most like - The Silver Suprano Full Leather Hightops, only 1000 pairs globally : 15 of which ended up at Dakota 501 Chapel Street. Their Timberland reinterpretation is brilliant + I’d have those second for winter in a heartbeat, but I’m hooked on silver sneakers at moment (the classic Common Projects is the hero (desert boots, or silver hightops) but with Aus$ would prob be closer to $600AU) Even Lil Wayne likes some Supra! (esp the Vaider Yellow, which are maad y’all holla lollypop)
Gold with Black Trim does rock.
Wheat - Timberland reinterpretation is so much better than anything Timberland has done for a decade, altho its a hard choice between these and the X-Large Japanese take on Timberland done directly with the brand and using the boating shoe:) They both nail a beautiful light brown and I aint a brown type of guy:|
VERSUS
THE WINNER - SILVER SUPRANO SKYTOP
I’m just a sucker for these shoes… in real life they are made so well.. it’s a real point of difference with the Supranos - unlike Nikes and Diesels which I’m used to and honestly fall apart after 6 months of actually using (running, walking, wearing regularly) I’ve never even owned a pair of basketball kicks, even though I would have owned well over 100 sneakers : I was never a Jordan head although I admired from afar… I had alot of Cross Trainers - The SC Models.. would even order pairs in from parents friends in Chicago! Anyway I can dream… being a startup + u subsidise/pay for projects and hope they will recoup… and at moment I’m transitioning business to the singular opportunity that is the most attractive/scalable/unique that I/we’re best suited to do.. Anyway my point is its hard to get paid end of December/early January.. so I’ll hang in there and blog.. as long as my actual 600kps + 60-80gig a month stays there*?
* ISP transfer question for smarties : (I want to change to the new ADSL2+ resell of Telstra by Internode… and currently being on iPrimus - they have some jargon like Rapid Transfer… any1 know how long it takes to switch internet providers if they’ve verified they can use the connection or some such…. thx i know when ive done a new internode connection or with anyone it can take up to a month and usually does.. im wondering what the real time to switch isps is.. more than 2 days and see above, i stay put - at least i can buy top ups from iprimus that are only 2x internode not 100x which telstra are:)
