Django Aware have got some pretty good points on Indian outsourcing for the Django/Ruby interested : “Remove references to quality, focus on incurred cost of outsourcing. Quality is difficult to quantify and easy to debate. When frameworks like Django or Ruby On Rails effectively reduce core project development (coding) significantly enough, periphery project costs grow in proportion. Communication can become the bottle neck, for example. A time zone difference of a few hours (8 - 12 in the case of US to India) means project decisions have a significant lag. Over the phone or email communications are not as effective as face to face time, especially with cultural and language differences. Even with highly experienced staff the cost of doing business time zones apart is higher than face to face.”
Listening to : A fantastic podcast exploring the inspiration of a hyperfrenetic Bombay India of 19m people for Slumdog Millionaire*, and the outsourcing centres as one of the myriad of extreme modern Indian class levels with a podcast by Jeff Goldsmith of Creative Screenwriting Magazine interviewing screenwriter Simon Beaufoy about Slumdog Millionaire, if there is only one film u see this summer, u must see this one (unless its The Wrestler) Subscribe to the Screenwriter podcast, also just listened to their interview with Charlie Kaufmann on Synecdoche (Karina Longworth review ere), who amazingly even after writing Being John Malkovich, couldnt get distribution for his directorial debut. Listening to the podcast, u dont feel as bad as an entrepreneur who cant close finance. If the writer of Malkovich cant, then wow. Grab their feed its awesome to dump into yer ipod for summer listening. Also can any1 recommend an ipodcatcher client ala ipodder lemon I used years ago.. I dont like Itunes either autograbbing new episodes or u having to manually grab each one… I need something in the middle with a bit more control. Also grab the FilmCouch podcast on Slumdog + Benjamin Button (subscribe to this feed) who will be going to head to head, along with The Wrestler for Best Picture at the Oscars most likely.
* Fascinating Tidbit of the day I got from listening to the Slumdog + Syndedoche podcasts + discussions about funding/distribution : While Charlie Kaufmann couldnt get distribution/had challenges getting any funding as well - Slumdog Millionaire - was bankrolled early and funding not a problem due to the production company being the owner and sitting on piles of residual cashflow from the Indian Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which is the central plot device of the movie. Once they read the script (which they liked) the icing on the cake was the “product placement” of the show. Oh the delicious irony.

Ben, re. Podcast application, have a look at http://getxcast.com/ . It looks promising and has iTunes integration as well.
I'm still jonesing for a web-only solution to handle all my podcast. I've been using http://www.mevio.com to create a channel of my podcasts and then subscribe to that in iTunes, but it's not ideal yet.
thx so much thats really useful… will check out those links… gonna check out if there are any other solutions or whether itunes is the default standard there is reason to mess with.. i did enjoy 2005-7 using ipodder lemon for podcasts and then used itunes for music… but i still had to import into itunes which was annoying!
watched slumdog millionaire again with family tonite, then for first time, its a great film… universal appeal.. interesting made by brits.
