Just had a noice 9 hole hit at The Dunes Cup Course with Mister Edis, who I spent the Dot Crash working with, at the Yellow biz. Now just waiting for Siddle, Victoria’s new 8 wickets this test Australian Pace Strike Bowler to clean up the South African tail, which only happened with 10 balls to go ! Enjoying listening to only 7 overs left injured Graeme Smith batting with near one arm to try and save a draw, after Matt Hayden dropped a regulation catch.

Anyway, seems lawyer turned dotcom entrepreneur now barrister Samzidat7 has read the Murdoch bio “The Man Who Own the News” : I’m dying to read (Tys- can i borrow yer copy ill swap for Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz the new tho not of course DFW) : “Wolff makes no pretence that his biography is an objective, disinterested piece of writing. His views and prejudices are all over it - which means that it is no Shawcross (the definitive - but very dated Murdoch biography) but it is a fun read with lots of interesting (and presumably mostly accurate) anecdotes and snippets about Rupert and the Murdoch clan

Every technical person and my own business swear by and use Amazon Web Services. It’s a very “back-end” thing, but there will be increasingly front-end options developed as Amazon make them available. From the P2P blog, where it would be easy to charge a small micro-fee for um, cough, video downloads : “The new option is not available for Bittorrent downloads, which have been a little-known feature ever since S3 started. This may sound like a let-down, but could actually be an interesting option for content publishers as well as torrent hosting services like Vipeers: Offer torrent downloads for free, but charge end users for http donwloads through Amazon. Those charges would be relatively low, since S3 itself only costs between 10 and 17 cents per GB. However, developers still would have to pay a transaction fee of 0.30 USD per bill collected.”

So it seems there won’t be a sequel to Se7en but its not like I expected there to be an Eight, via The Playlist covering David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en, The Game, Benjamin Button) :

Some New Supra Skytop Colours. I Like the Burgundy, except Via Sneakerbistor.com : I luv my Silver Supra Skytops + the Timberland Version are next on my Hitlist.

New Supra Skytop Colours; Burgundy4Me Via Sneakerbistro.com : Luv my (Silver) Supra Skytops; The "Timmys" r next !

That’s right, after actually smacking John Goldwyn a few nights ago, Fincher seems to have totally snapped after last night’s Q&A at Lincoln Center. While he was allegedly discussing “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” Fincher managed to oscillate wildly between “total maniac” and “abject dick.” Some of the highlights include his confusing account of pitching the film: “That’s a phone book!” said the studio, to which he adroitly countered, “No, it’s the film we want to make!” Later, he dished on his canny use of the picture’s $150 million budget, claiming that the production made $3.5 million in mistakes (which, frankly, may be a conservative estimate). Fincher closed by making sure his fans felt appreciated by responding to an audience query on the possibility of a sequel to “Se7en” by quipping: ” I would be less interested in that than I would in having cigarettes put out in my eyes.” Classy, dude.”

And on this non Steve Jobs health induced, or was it, Macworld’09 day, Techcrunch break it down (or click on pic for Engadget’s live blog of event) : “It’s unlikely we’ll ever know if Steve Jobs pulled out from the show with the direct intention of lowering expectations. But can you picture him presenting a keynote whose major highlights were an 8-hour laptop battery and some software updates? I don’t think he could either.”

So is bigger better ? or would u prefer the Sony Vaio P ultraportable or the HP ultracheap 9.7″ netbook ? Engadget again on will Sony beat Apple to the NetBook market which could well be Apples undoing (whether it be Asus, HP, Sony etc) : “Unveiled today is the backside of this tiny “notebook PC” as described by the FCC under the model numbers PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L (PCG synonymous with Sony’s VAIO laptop brand). We see tests for Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and both EVDO and HSPA data courtesy of Qualcomm’s Gobi chipset. What’s more, with the FCC providing the exact measurement of that label (128-mm wide), we can eyeball dimensions at just over 9.5 x 4.5-inches making this netbook even smaller than the 10.3 x 6.56-inch HP mini 1000. What impact that has on the QWERTY and trackpad (if there is one) remains to be seen.”

More important than tiny very cheap XP/Linux Netbooks vs 17″ expensive OSX ones, are Supra offering some new colours to their Skytop line (which im happily wearing for my xmas present, thxu!) via SneakerFiles which says of the “burgeoning independent brand Supra ballooned into one of the most prominent brands in the hip-hop world this past year. The Skytop, the company’s high-rising casual model, is returning this year in a burgundy patent leather make-up, an all-bronze color scheme, and an ink blue suede version.” Oh, and btw - I got this image sent to me via twitter by @missamanda re biggest grossing current US film w/ post rehab Owen Wilson post Brad Jen Aniston + a dawg that has a hard end : Marley and Me is finally out via torrent or webstream below :

Steve Jobs on AAPL making a Netbook : “There are some customers which we chose not to serve. We don’t know how to make a $500 computer that’s not a piece of junk, and our DNA will not let us ship that. But we can continue to deliver greater and greater value to those customers that we choose to serve. And there’s a lot of them.” (or NYT blogs interpretation)
