Lazy, mid 20c’s Saturdays, u cant go wrong lazing at Balnarring, reading Fin/Sun, large latte and some afternoon google reading, torrent sourcing and beach running. I’m hoping that NY_Mag’s Vulture blog is right and Slumdog Millionaire wins best picture and Danny Boyle best director at Golden Globes. I also agree with them that Sean Penn will win for Milk. (btw can u believe dexter is marrying his blog bashed sister?) Forget about Tv goss + film awards though, blogs r really goin crazy over the Palm Pre (gallery) Scoble says it well : “Palm’s bet on social networking integration is a game changer. Click into a contact and you see people’s Facebook info and other info from their social networks. That is huge and not many people will get it.”
Like having an alternative to Apple, but prefer something a bit bigger than The Pre ? Maybe ur looking fwd to the Macbook Air competing Dell Adamo or the Atom processors going into Sony VaioP amongst other microlaptops via Industry Standard (best coverage and pic of Sony VaioP over at Pocketables so far) :
“Another feature of the Z-series is its chipset. Unlike the two-chip 945GSE Express used with the N270, the Z-series processors are paired with Intel’s single-chip System Controller Hub US15W chipset, formerly called Poulsbo. The single-chip chipset helps cut power consumption and allows hardware makers to put Atom processors inside smaller computers. The Z-series chips were originally designed for small, handheld computers that Intel calls mobile Internet devices, but they’re now making their way into a new crop of Atom-based laptops, such as Sony’s P Series. The P Series mini-laptop, unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, is arguably the nicest of the new machines. Priced at US$900, the P Series has a 1.33GHz Atom Z520 processor, 8-inch widescreen display, 2GB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, a built-in GPS and 3G modem, as well as Wi-Fi and other features packed inside a sleek 680-gram package that’s just 2 centimeters thick.”
Before I got distracted by Netbooks, Vaio’s and Dells - Apple’s 17 inch really hasnt registered a ripple : I was reading some A VC on a Saturday afternoon : “The Times Bits blog posted the news yesterday that Google has well over 1mm advertisers. If you click through and read the post, you’ll see that the number is estimated to be between 1.3mm and 1.5mm currently. Let’s think about that. The “Mad Men” world was based on less than a hundred advertisers placing hundreds of thousands of dollar ad buys priced at $100 cpms and these ads were sold over martinis or on the golf course. Now we are in a world where millions of advertisers buy billions of impressions at penny cpms or even better dollar cpas. This is a scale business with scale economics.” But given it’s a Saturday maybe you’d just prefer some Luis Vuitton on your feet via Kanye, and go out and do something, which is what I might do, in my Supras.
