The ‘Being’ Shows

BBC Being Human S1E1

So there is a Canadian show Being Erica (S1E3) where she goes back in time to decisions she made in the past she regrets; Then there is Being Human, a British show (torrent ere) about 3 everyday supernaturals; A female evil version of the Ricky Gervais Ghost Town dead but alive character; A shape shifting wearwolf nurse; And rounding it out with Doctor Vampire. From ScreenrushUK : “Good looking hospital cleaner Mitchell and his shy mate geeky porter George would love to hit the town, go on the pull and hang out at their local. There’s only one problem: Mitchelll is a vampire, while his pal is a werewolf! The twentysomething pair move in together wit dreams of evenings in front of the telly, beer in hand, just like other lads their age. Unfortunately, they hadn’t counted on, Annie, the insecure ghost of the previous tennant! This disperate supernatural trio have one thing in common: a desperate desire to be human.” - All good viewing.

Being Human The Ghost Who Cant Be Seen Sometimes

Waxy.org have a gr8 profile of my summer : “Out of 26 nominated films, an incredible 23 films are already available in DVD quality on nomination day, ripped either from the screeners or the retail DVDs. This is the highest percentage since I started tracking. Only three films are unavailable — Rachel Getting Married wasn’t leaked online in any form, while Changeling is only available as a low-quality telecine transfer and Australia as a terrible quality camcorder recording. (Update: A DVD screener of Australia was just leaked today.)” And who said Interactive TV hadnt launched in Australia yet !? VInteresting argument via This Recording bout ydays film The Reader about The Nazi endorsement subtext :

The Kate Winslet Uniform

“Michael is a cloying such young boy, and he gets laid by Sam Mendes’ wife over and over again. Winslet cradles the boy’s Valkyric cock like a champ, reminding me of a young Sophia Loren if she felt the need to take Oscar-type roles. At least she’s having a shitload more fun then she was in Revolutionary Road.. The Reader is part of a growing trend of films with some small admiration for the Nazi cause. We should have hoped Graham Greene and Roald Dahl might have been the end of it. Because pinning something so large on every person is difficult, it is pinned on some small segment of the population, on a case-by-case basis. It is even sometimes the fault of the victims, if you believe the West. There were innocent Nazis, The Reader argues. There must have been, or else what else was the Holocaust? Of all the proctors of genocide, Winslet’s SS guard is the kindest, choosing the weak and the sick, and then dispatching them with equal charity. Keeping the strongest of the Jews out of some twisted sense of mercy. And here are the executioners, served up by more of my people in the film’s Jewish producers, Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein, those least admirable of Jews. My people have such a strange sense of humor sometimes.

110 gig so far for January

ParisLemon is rapping on Twitter valuations (think ill stick to scoble’s $42 per user/member which sounds fair if the latter) - “These valuations are just as much about potential and the future. When Microsoft made an investment in Facebook in 2007 that puts its valuation at $15 billion, most saw it as ludicrous. It was — for then. But down the road, if Facebook eventually goes public when the market thaws, $15 billion make look like a deal. Again, that will rely on Facebook being able to make money, but it, like Twitter, will. It’s already starting to. There was another element to Microsoft’s investment too: Blocking a similar investment by Google in Facebook. That alone is worth the millions Microsoft spent. That’s pocket change to Microsoft, it was a good gamble anyway you look at it. When Google first started, if you said one day that it would be worth over $100 billion (which its market cap still is even after the great tech stock depression), everyone would have thought you were absolutely insane. Could you imagine investing in Google at a $250 million valuation? I’m not saying Twitter is the next Google — it’s not — but it’s not nothing either. And there’s a lot of room between $250 million and $100 billion.”

So if Evil I-Fart banning Facebook is the new Microsoft (if google isnt that is) and Twitter is Mini-Facebook, then Friendfeed (check Scoble’s video on friendfeed supposedly i get my 0.15 sub-seconds of fame) is the new Mini-Twitter hehe via Techcrunch : “While 2008 was Twitter’s hockey-stick year, Twitter’s little brother FriendFeed is also beginning to show hockey-stick tendencies in its growth. According to comScore, FriendFeed attracted 950,000 unique visitors worldwide in December. That’s a tenfold increase since June, when comScore counted only 93,000 unique visitors worldwide (and nearly double since September, when it was 550,000).”

I'm Very Much Enjoying United States of Tara : Especially Love the Diablo Cody Writing + Characterisation, the show being about multiple personality disorder and all.

New Zealand Boys R Back

Oh and after a flat S2E1, Flight of Conchords was hilarious.. the boys try to become prostitutes as Brett spends $2.79 on a cup he is sick of having to wait for each time. This overdraws the account which leads to $60 of charges; Brett sells his guitar, so he has to play an air guitar gig, hence the $5 hooking… anyway its Vintage incl a gr8 rap track bout bein a ho. Nuff said, watch it links below.
