Waking up this morning to hear 40+ people may be dead (35+ and rising… Update : 430pm Premier Brumby says current death toll is 49, nup now its 50 (skynews saying 65), Dunc earlier in day called it early when he said it could be up to 60 in Holocaust like (news.com.au headline) fires around regional Victoria. Christine Nixon should be updating further at 6pm around newstime..

I was at gym Friday afternoon when the CFA were extremely worried and basically predicted what happened and that it could/would be as bad/worse as the 2 Ash Wednesdays. That the forecast has come true and enough people didnt listen in time is absolutely awful. I’m off to Rye, well I was when I first wrote this post as a fashion blog post with a little tidbit around the fires.

IvykCliu’s Flickr has a few amazing shots which really capture the smoke and intensity of flame heat.. Can only imagine those cars that have tried to outrun the fires unsuccessfully. May we pray for those hurt and families. Great work by CFA.

I just spent 2 hours collecting links and then wordpress ate my post, so much for autosave drafts, any1 recommend a plugin for draft saving. Above hyperlink will take you twitter #bushfires search result which seems to be the hashtag classification which is being used to post to the Bushfires news stream.
