So it’s good to get back on the (business) horse (that is) @m0nty : there is gold in them social networks! Had some venjoyable social media is stranger than fiction meetings. Coincidentally @joshsharp + I were talking bout the atlassian model 2day as a leading example for other Aussie startups to follow. (Hosted proprietary self service resellable many times data+/or apps to enterprises) And get home to read atlassian are up to $100m cumulative total sales (6 months ago or so they were doing $3m a month or so i think i remember? - so nice growth traction) Congrats to Mike and team. From their blog :

“It’s hard to believe that only seven years after Atlassian was founded, we’ll shortly hit $100 million in all time sales. It’s been quite a ride.” The ‘four ingredients’ they quote :

  • The software had to sell itself with no $$$ for a sales team
  • To sell itself it had to be low price
  • To make money we’d have to sell lots of copies
  • To sell lots of copies, we’d have to build really good software
Mike should pick up one of these Vodcars on Flickr pictured Bugatti Veyrons already :)
