Well if I was looking for a good tweet on Friday, last nite’s #Masterchef (with likely over 3m watching) had a 2 hour stream of em’, with a rack of damn tasty lamb after a 12km run into the beach wind my legs are paying 4 2day - well the volume of tweeting on #Masterchef was unlike I’ve ever seen around a TV show, especially downunder - even compared to big US shows…

Frankly live twitter connected to a watchable TV show is about the only reason to justify 20+ minutes per hour of above the line big brand big bland advertising. There would be 40-200 new #masterchef OR “masterchef” tweets every 1-15 seconds per refresh. It was the second highest trending topic/keyword on twitter during most of episode. And I didnt see one smart Australian marketer in any of it.

No Ch_7 cross platform sponsor 140 character integration with the show advertisers (and did they have enough advertisers on the TV or what goddamn)- which was a bit disappointing… so many social media consultants in Australia, so little breakthrough work.
