Store Review : Adidas Outlet’ Smith Street Collingwood

Address : 337 Smith Street, Collingwood VIC, off Victoria Street.

Key Stock : Diesel Adidas Jeans discounted, that were sold at high end Adidas Originals Store

Jeans I wanted were a Diesel X Adidas Collab, not cheap. $310USD was overseas retail, altho they were only a Euro/Asia release hence there’s no deadstock being pawned off on ebay cheaply. Not $400AUD which is what they retailed for at Adidas Originals Chapel Street. While they came out in SS08 I handled, pictured, check priced, and noted they had my size. Didnt have the finances to justify !

Found out by luck that old Diesel Adidas stock is being sold at Adidas Outlet in Smith Street Collingwood.

Rocked up there 2pm today running far too late, and found they had at least 100 pairs of discounted stock.

My pair were on hold. Outlet price $240AUD.

For Diesels top signature jean - The Thanaz.

In a colour - Stone Grey - it makes few to none in… or any greys/charcoals for that matter. The Diesel code is 08HD (for reference diesel has at any one time 7-10 jean cuts/styles - whether skinny be in, or bootcut, straight leg etc. Thanaz which i got is there skinny jean cut.

Then they combine the name “Thanaz” with a cut, which has a colour. In this case 08HD.

Interestingly the retail workers at Diesel Chapel Street I dont think really get this.. and their buyer doesnt either.. as the cut and codes that are popular in US/Europe for Diesel is not at all or even close to what they stock in Chapel Street store.

For example they dont stock black skinnies, let alone grey skinnies… with adidas unique features.. not to mention also being available in my size!

Im pretty tempted to go back for the Black Thanaz 08IE. Basically Diesel Adidas Black Skinnies. Retailed for $480AUD. Outlet Price $180. So That would be $126 discounted.. or $100 USD.. when these do come up on Ebay.com (.au just has diesel fakes let alone the adidas collab) They go for $150USD to $285USD. As below.

I was aiming to get Black Coated Raw Jeans… and see what this whole raw jeans thing is like.. but this diesel adidas deal is so much cheaper for jeans that retail same price ($175USD shipped for American made raws vs $350USD for the proper black raws 22oz from Japan : Awesome Iron Heart brand or Dior Homme 19cm Noir Nostalgy) I digress.

Where I was very sensible today - was I paid $150 in bills even after trying on the Matte Black/Grey Undefeated Bronx Jacket.. That wasnt on sale $229AUD, but it did fit perfectly and look the goods. I will go back for, but just depends if my size sells.. or if I can get the C-Card to work on the Crooks Castles Crossbone jacket on Caliroots.com OK back to footy.. throat is killing.. another early night (my body after going to sleep at 11pm last night woke up like clockwork 5 hours later at 415am…) it didnt know what to do.. esp with that jab of pain.

Never Seen a Leather Jacket Pull this Off

Rick Owens Funnell Leather Jacket - Damn never seen such cool distressing transtion, now it could be a bit Michael Jackson but... since my decade old black Saba leather jacket was stolen i havent had that go to winter jacket. Rick Owens, damn u fashion blogs who swear by the label for leather.

And today u have a new distressed Rick Owens leather jacket, which if u converted to Australian dollars might be $4,266AU. I have no idea what oki-ni stands for, but please stop doing what u do. I know what ur doing.If you don’t stop I might have to go over to the cheaper SouthWillard.com, who stock most of the Common Projects SS09 but not the Safari mids in the below colourtone/sole.

OK now i’ve gotta work hard 4 the money after docs appointment in Rye doh….. l8r h8rs. Hughesy joined twitter today on nova (i like when celebrities/politicians join twitter and have no friends/dont know what to do for a few days.. altho i think the sweet spots for radio stars is heavy live twittering during the show.. and then during the day have followup tweets to do with topics/issues/jokes that were tweeted about during show… anyway i digress) and hilariously @andrewsayer + @lilylauren rang up pimping twit and mtub meetups, word.

the next pair of jeans to replace the model before with 2 many holes now :)

OK I’ll just finish with some Diesel Thanaz 73J (my distressed jeans are now getting really distressed being SS06-7) as then we have coordinated jacket/jeans/kicks. Even if Zac Efron has oversaturated’em. It’s Australia not even the peeps working at the Diesel store in Chapel street have any difference between their own product line. (sometimes it’s bad being a product manager by trade)

Now to go earn them hehe; $230US/$400AU shipped jeans, $550 kix shipped - $950…. and um the leather jacket @ $4500 not so practical - So just need $5500:) And where does that come in the priority list.. Top 50 ?:) The grey stone safari CP kix - top 5 tho. Dont u know it playa, outtee.

Yup instant distressed or be a hipster + go raw, make yer own jean holes, but just dont wash em, ick... and raws r way more expensive, the good stuff that is.

A No Slumdog ere’ : Instead, a Supra Millionaire XMAS.

When you have 8 hours sleep for the first time in at least a ‘quarter’ : And 8 hours is double the average for the last fortnight. It feels a bit like taking valium. But in a good way; Also in a way that should have me suitably ‘peaked’ by 4pm for a 6pm bbqd_salmon-cranberryised_turkey-glazed_ham dinner when the majority of family arrive from inlaws + churching duties. (ma’s a priest; dad plays the organ, bro is involved in local church - so they all pack in anglican church services)

So far my XMAS has been on the very happy side which is always a bit scary, touchwood it continues. It started with a 12am screening of Slumdog Millionaire - download ere or ere (after having finally watched the Aussie Edgerton bros take on dysfunctional heist movie : The Square - download ere or ere - it was a solid 7/10 but the character who took all wasnt really the character u were made to identify with so the ending didnt really do it for me) But Slumdog Millionaire was as good as the critics say. (imdb 8.5/10 which says alot in itself - about what id give if not more) Every review I read had been 5/5 or film of the year etc.. which was scary esp as my afternoon run listening to the excellent weekly FilmCouch podcast #96 (add their feed in itunes and get their weekly podcast well worth it as well as the spout blog itself : feed’ere), actually had the one negative review of Danny Boyle’s Slumdog, which scared me.

I needn’t have worried (i understand the reviewers whole ‘what happened to danny boyle?’ how come all his films r about the guy getting the grrl + $ maybe) as Slumdog is one of those films that hits you with a mallet at the start and it keeps going the whole movie (similar in that sense to Boyle’s previously best film Trainspotting)

There is an OMG moment 5 minutes or so in, that makes u know this will be a special film.

And Slumdog isn’t which so many serious film directors fall into the trap of, in making a technically top notch film, using cutting edge guerilla film techniques but ultimately leave u flat. (I’m thinking of Che by Soderbergh as the most recent example) The story between brothers is very conventional in one way, but also gripping, arresting, sad and fatal in another.

Slumdog’s a film the whole family can watch, well the modern family that can handle a bit of offscreen implied torture; (Not that u really care) I’m going to try to get the right cable that @zbender + @andydigitale recommended so i can get the macmini playing these flicks on the Sony Bravia 32″ LCD. (the academy awards is so good for releasing great quality films to judges who then subversively leak the films to their bittorrent confidants.)

After getting my unheard of 8 hours, I was in shock being it was 11am, then I had a big perfectly wrapped box. I got the overseas call (connecting time zones r a bitch without email/skype/text/twitter/friendfeed etc to coordinate), made many big thankus, and then unwrapped the heavily weighted package.

But what was in this lovely white xmas package, but a beautiful white box with some silver branding; Supra! U beauty….
