Apart from Google’s purchase of Youtube and Newscorp Fox I reckon have done about as good as any1 in growing MySpace.. LargeCo’s generally take HyperGrowthCo and stifle it.. so the buyback could have merit. And lets face it.. Skype is an amazing invention.. where else can u talk 2 yer loved ones overseas for 2 hours for free, via voice and/or video with realtime Im thrown in. When I think the revenue will go crazy is when yer run of mill landline (that costs $200 per month in this household just the phone call part) - can retain the family phone number and handset but use VOIP infrastructure to get 5x cheaper phone calls. In reality.. it seems downunder u cant just keep yer phone number and utilise VOIp seamlessly with yer existing phone setup… U need a new number at a minimum.. and the ability to wifi enable yer phone etc

But any1 using paid VOIP downunder I’d love to hear recommendations for setup incl providers, hardware, software, pricing deals.. I’ve done the research of the top 5 providers via whirlpool.. but it keeps coming back to needing a new number and not wanting to ditch old one.. Also down ere less than 100kms from Melbourne CBD u cant get Naked DSL etc OK im gonna catch last qtr of dees being beaten and do 1 hour on treadmill !

Check this link for similarity in image ! Sneak peek: New Terminator villain Helena Bonham Carter reveals her robotic face | Mail Online

Revealed: Helena Bonham Carter will play Serena Korgenin the upcoming Terminator Salvation movie

“”Helena Bonham Carter is to star in the new Terminator movie - but she will not be human. The actress has already revealed that she plays a villain in the prequel, Terminator Salvation, telling an interviewer: ‘I kind of play a baddie, definitely a baddie. ‘I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, but I’m a very bad person.’ Now these images from the film show a robotic Helena with a partially damaged face. Helena was a late addition to the cast, which includes Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Bryce Dallas Howard. She replaced Tilda Swinton shortly before filming began and worked for ten days on the film. ‘Tim [Burton] would have killed me if I hadn’t done it, because he’s such a Terminator fan,’ Helena said, referring to her partner.” - RAPatton via Bookmarklet

Oh can I say again how good the #terminator finale was fn awesome.. while #dollhouse could only have a few eps to go for good.. They really shouldnt have lead actors as high priced bondage hookas ok Buffy creator.. Also u gotta check out #PartyDown bout actors who r LA caterers.. its a classic… Like #entoruage pre them being major douches! Alot of the Veronica Mars cast and behind the scenes team.. not to mention Jason Stackhouse VBlood addict from True Blood !

Oh, and i finally found an online retailer with the Winter boots i want for a better total price 205 quid for the Common Projects Safari Light Grey boot!!! Will be putting myself out of misery soon and ordering so I can stop getting so OCD bout’em. Little final tip if u r buying online from Australia, check UK sellers in pounds or Euro.. as Aussie dollars converts much better eg pound is almost 2 for 1.. while USD u have to add almost 1/3rd.. eg The 205 pound shoe is around $405USD from US sellers.. thats$520 + shipping (often $30-$40 even $50 USD) hence another $130AUD for same kix!

Put The Dollhouse to Sleep Bloggers r Saying : Others in Buffy Fanboy Denial.

It’s not Buffy Angel or Firefly Sorry

Y do u find the interesting posts u need to link to if not blog about just when u turning yer computer off (#dollhouse has been getting caned online and it is fun to watch the Joss Whedon fanboyz scream but not be able to fake support for the show if it doesnt have the right nerdcore factor which it doesnt. David Chase would wak these ppl.) Lets face it - there is no humour and the aesthetic is weak, derivative, blah. Sack Dollhouse before Fringe please which is actually good. The high end hooker robotics joint is just another procedural with an average twist with an average cast. And the fact the lead characters have new amnesia every week other than a wink to each other at the end of the episode, well then i dont see it lasting, yes it is fun to watch but so are about 25 other shows. And I’d prefer they kept Fringe + bodybagged Dollhouse.

The Sanctuary which like the Dollhouse is an "Unknown" place where supernatural things happen is much better than Dollhouse when I think about it.

Now I think about it

The Sanctuary is pretty similar to The Dollhouse but I prefer that. Also, like I’ve been saying check out #beinghuman the UK show if u want something slightly less than human, but this time the edge is real, as is the acting. Just disappointed it’s only a 6 ep mini-series with one ep to go which will be out tomorrow, well today. Ooh it appears they’ve signed off on 8 ep 2nd series, excellent !

I was meant to be linking to Mommy Bloggers

So that John Bell written post was from (his) Digital Influence Mapping Project (like the name, seems to describe well the gap/opportunity in market) It’s about mommy bloggers, but could apply to any vertical of high influence bloggers/social media commentators : “Now, I realize that everyone is saying that they work with moms who blog on behalf of brands. And so do mom bloggers. Many, like Wal-Mart’s 11 Moms, are aligning themselves with brands serving as a type of ‘kitchen cabinet’ of new-influencers-with-a-platform. In that role they provide useful intelligence inbound to the brand and serve as a core group for outbound word of mouth (WOM). Brands empower them to give away product, prizes and coupons (I am going to stick by my assertion that we at Ogilvy’s 360 Digital Influence team, pioneered this type of engagement via our “microcontest” model which empowers bloggers to reward readers and commenters with product and prizes, I will acknowledge that many are now following suit). We are evolving from a model of campaign-based blogger outreach to blogger alignment. This is the social media approach to sponsored spokesperson but with a couple of big differences. Mom bloggers own their voice. They must retain credibility with their highly personal audiences and never shill. The level of disclosure and transparency must remain super-high. I love that the 11Moms for example only mention Wal-Mart in approximately 6% of their posts over the last 30 days and frequently mention other retailers. That’s their call. With the aggregate reach they have accumulated, that 6% of brand mentions, the badges on their blogs, and the aggregate content on walmart.com - it all adds up as a great value.”

Nice Opening Credits for Free Agents

Nice Opening Credits for Free Agents

Last night, in between some definitely excellent transnational skyping, I was looking forward to the premiere of Dollhouse by Buffy + Angel creator Joss Wheadon but the lead up interviews in the long time in the making show were pretty spot on about the strengths and weaknesses. It ended up being a pretty basic procedural episode, supposedly it was intended to be ep 7 and it showed.

Dollhouse Credits. I'm pretty much with Clique Clack : "Like I said before, this episode didn’t capture me the way that I’d hoped. So far I’m ranking it up there with “it’s OK” — not even “pretty good.” I’ve seen next week’s episode, too, and while it definitely gets better, it’s still hovering around the “OK” rating in my book. So, what would make this show fare from “pretty good” to even “great?”"

As the Dollhouse is a place where they take society’s outliers and brainwash them for specific tasks. So first ep was a kidnapping recovery; The next one could be a different format.Watch first ep ere and decide yourself.

But does the Dollhouse exist and who wants it shut down

But does the Dollhouse exist and who wants it shut down?

I’ll definitely watch it, but I much prefer Fringe (plus Eleventh Hour) and Sanctuary (which it seems to have borrowed a bit from conceptwise ie The Sanctuary and The Dollhouse are both places outside known existence using science to fight baddies, both with strong female leads and 2d males ) for these types of shows. Needs more sardonic AngelBuffd wit.

Big Ben hehe from the star Chris Mangan in The Independent : ""When I first read it, I thought, 'Can I say that? Can you get away with that on TV?'" he tells me between takes. "This is extremely good writing, and I hope people see it as that and not just, 'Oh, they're trying to be rude and get away with stuff.'" And it is clever writing, an adult romcom whose author, Chris Niel, describes it as "Richard Curtis on poppers. I wanted to write something about a grown-up relationship where people come to it with a lot of baggage... where it's not a simple boy-meets-girl. This is a boy-who-just-got-divorced-meets-girl-who's-just-getting-over-the-death-of-her-boyfriend kind of thing."

What I much preferred last night :

Was the premiere ep of Free Agents. Being just another person who has seen all the Entourage series and eps, and believing it’s been a long pre Aquaman time when the show was actually good. Lets face the characters ate Hollywood agent-talentness and became IRL the ones Wahlberg set the show up to parody. Anyway I thought the last season sukd anyone that says otherwise is a cheerleader for mediocrity. So Free Agents fills the gap very nicely. By the the Production company who made Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz.

They are on Twitter : @bigtalkprods’ere.

Free Agents S1E1 : "Here's the set-up: Alex (Stephen Mangan) and Helen (Sharon Horgan) are celebrity agents, working in an uber-trendy open-plan office with the boss from hell, Stephen Caudwell (Anthony Head) and a healthy selection of media idiots, including Matthew Holness, whom it's always a joy to see. Alex - old-fashioned, funny, almost Hugh Grant-esque - is recently divorced and not dealing with it at all well, and Helen - modern, liberated, realistic - is mourning the death of her fiance. Perfect for each other, obviously, or at least that's what Alex somewhat inexplicably believes. Helen, on the other hand, is just happy to have him in her bed when she's feeling down; she could do without the post-coital crying though... " via TV-Scoop.

I’m looking forward on weekend to seeing the new show ‘Dollhouse‘ by Joss Whedon, the Angel/Buffy/Firefly creator, even if the first ep is a bit hitnmiss. The overall concept sounds kewl via The Watcher :Dushku’s main character, Echo, is employed by a shadowy organization that houses her and fellow “actives” in a spalike clubhouse. When not eating salads and getting massages, the actives have specific personalities imprinted on to their brains; they use these temporary implants to complete missions for the Dollhouse’s wealthy clients. The missions can range from heists to dates to really, really dangerous dates, and the running-and-fighting missions generally show Dushku at her best. As she proved when she played the leather-clad Faith on “Buffy,” she’s a natural at delivering quips while also delivering roundhouse kicks.Read ComicBook Resources indepth piece + interview with Whedon, should be online by Saturday/Sunday AU time;

Joss : ‘”Because the subject matter is so very delicate … which is good, when you want it to be creepy … [but] it’s a very fine line,” Whedon said. “There was a period where I was like, ‘I don’t know what the show is anymore! And it hasn’t even aired yet!’ Now, I never knew what ‘Angel’ was about and we did fine for five years,” he joked to loud cheers.”But [with 'Dollhouse'] there was a dark and scary Joss period,” he said. “That’s something that’s a very difficult and personal thing … but we [the production team] kept slogging through and then we found it.”‘

Another interview over on Sepinwall also points to some of the problems that happened getting the creative “process” right. This is Whedon talking about how the order the audience is seeing the episodes is not the order they were shot/envisioned : “The bow-hunting episode came second, because — what, are you kidding? Fox was like, “Bow-hunting? ‘Most Dangerous Game’? You had me at helloooo!” It had the kind of adventure and excitement that they absolutely wanted to see in the show. That had originally been episode eight. Obviously, we changed some things to make it work better as a second episode, but some of those decisions came through that way. And some of them was just, “Which script is ready to shoot?” There was a certain amount of chaos. But tracking everything, it does all fall together in a way that makes sense. It shouldn’t feel too random when people see it. And we always look at the first bunch as a series of pilots. What we want to make clear is there is a certain thing we do, and there is a certain thing that happens that is trouble, which is basically Echo. The most important thing about the dollhouse is that this girl is not a doll.

Sepinwall’s review of the show ere : “Dushku isn’t as versatile as the role demands - many weeks, the only difference in Echo’s persona seems to be her wardrobe - but Whedon and his writers certainly are. This is essentially a “Quantum Leap”-style anthology, where Echo’s constant changes of identity puts the show into a different style - kidnapping thriller, horror movie, swinging heist flick - each week, and the writers are excellent at bending their talents to fit the latest genre. Next week’s episode is one of the better filmed riffs on the classic short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” and the caper episode is packed with unexpected, engrossing twists. But because Echo is constantly assuming new identities, and because her default personality is so deliberately uninteresting, it’s hard to find something to latch onto from episode to episode. Harry Lennix evinces some sympathy as Echo’s handler, an ex-cop who feels ashamed for being involved in such a morally bankrupt enterprise, but he’s not enough of a draw on his own.”
